Annie Buckley


The official title of Annie’s card is "Now” Annie Buckley, 2009/2015. Annie gave me a list of many sites important to her where she wanted me to leave her cards. It was great to visit these places and share in her experiences and memories.

I left this card at a tram stop in the valley of Zion National Park in Utah after a long walk by a river with Neptune. I love how the card establishes presence in this place you just want to remember forever. I left this card at The Kansas City Art Institute.  I left this card at a kiosk at The Kansas City Art Institute.  Years ago Annie went into a spiritual / voodoo shop in New Orleans and bought a tarot deck that helped her work through her cancer and inspired one of my favorite artworks, the people's tarot deck, a contemporary, feminist, progressive update on the traditional tarot deck. It was so special to be able to drop this card off at the official Marie Laveau house of voodoo in New Orleans. I spoke with the people who work there about Annie's story and this art project. They were moved and insisted that I place the card on the shrine to ms Laveau. Couldnt take a picture of it on the shrine because that's a big no no. Annie wanted this card placed somewhere near where the million man march was. I couldn't think of a better spot than the Lincoln memorial.
